Byron Glacier Trail and Moose Meadows | Anchorage, AK
Katie & John’s Girdwood engagement photos were part of our big trip to Alaska for their wedding last summer! Not only did we get to photograph their wedding in Anchorage, but, we also got to adventure around with them a couple days before. It was so much fun to get to explore different parts of Alaska on our trip. The Girdwood area is a highly recommended place to visit and it is easy to see why. Just the drive alone is worth a couple hours of your time!
We started by meeting up at the Byron Glacier trail. We had high hopes to make it to the glacier, but it had receded quite a ways up the mountain. We had fun hiking our way to a great view of the mountains and away from the crowds. Then, we turned back and did our best to make some of the remaining snow in the valley look as much like a glacier as possible.
After Byron Glacier, we drove back to Girdwood for more mountain views. As soon as we pulled off at Moose Meadows, a downpour started. Thankfully, we didn’t have long to wait before it died down. The moody clouds the rain left behind made the view of the mountains even more epic for us. We absolutely love the more lifestyle and fun feel this session has!
